I have a sweet tooth! Whenever I eat something savory, I feel like I need a bit of sweetness right after. It used to be candy or cakes, but after I started eating cleaner, I stopped baking. Especially now that the season is full of naturally sweet fruits, there is no need for cake.

After I started to incorporate much more fruit into my diet, I found that I don’t crave sugar as much as I used to. With this sweet quinoa fruit salad, you will get all the sweetness you desire for significantly fewer calories than cookies, candy, or cake.

This salad contains a good source of protein in the quinoa. Besides that, the berries are good for keeping you mentally sharp. And on top of those benefits, mint is full of antioxidants.

Sweet Quinoa Fruit Salad

  • 1/2 cup cooked quinoa
  • 1/2 pound strawberries
  • 1/2 cup blueberries
  • 1/2 cup blackberries
  • 1 stem fresh mint
  • 1/2 lemon
  • 3 Tablespoons honey


  • Cut strawberries into bite size pieces, mix with 1/2 cup blueberries, 1/2 cup blackberries, 1/2 cup cooked quinoa, and chopped fresh mint.
  • Sweet dressing: In a small bowl, whisk together juice from 1/2 lemon and 3 Tablespoons honey; mix with fruit and quinoa.
