The Summer Melon Salad recipe I have for you is delicious in its simplicity. It’s full of summer’s natural sugars. It takes just 10 minutes, and is naturally gluten-free, dairy-free, and sugar-free!


What are you planning to do this summer? My family is usually very spontaneous with our vacations or trips. If we plan, we usually plan only a week in advance. To give you an idea of how spontaneous we are here is a quick story of how we met. My husband saw me on a picture; he lived in Canada, and I was here in the States. As soon as he saw the picture, he found out my number and gave me a call immediately. We met six days later; he proposed about four hours after we saw each other for the first time, and we got married two months later. This year we will be celebrating our ten-year anniversary. Crazy! I know, I guess when you know, you just know, and there is no point to date, especially long distance.

How to Store Melon Salad

You can make this salad a day ahead and store it in the fridge, but if at all possible it’s great when it’s fresh. If you do want to prep it in advance, just cut the melons, and store them in a separate container. The dressing can be made ahead of time and stored in a jar. When you are ready to serve to toss them all together with freshly chopped mint.  If you do make it ahead of time, drain off some of the melon juice before serving. Since the mint that you would leave on the salad will wilt in the fridge, so add fresh chopped mint right before you serve.

How to Make Melon Salad

Making a melon salad takes very little time and not much effort.  You’ll first need to either cube the melons or I use a small ice cream scoop.

Once you’ve got the melons cut, whisk together honey, water, mint and lemon juice together in a bowl. Add in the melon and stir until the melon is evenly coated in the honey mixture. You can easily double this recipe for a larger crowd, and this fruit salad will keep well outside in the shade.


Sweet Melon Summer Salad Recipe

  • 1/2 cantaloupe seeds removed, cubed
  • 1/2 watermelon cubed
  • 1/2 honeydew seeds removed, cubed
  • 1 Tbsp fresh mint chopped
  • 1 Tbsp honey
  • 1 Tbsp lemon juice


  • Dice melons.
  • Whisk together honey, mint, and lemon juice together. Toss gently with melons.
  • Enjoy this delicious salad fresh!
