The holidays have passed, and once again it’s time to make some new year’s resolutions! Get back into reality, back to a schedule, going to the gym, and most importantly – healthier eating. December is one of my busiest months. Besides Christmas and New Years, it is also our wedding anniversary and my husband’s birthday. We took a trip to New York, a place I love to come back to again and again (I am surely a city girl at heart). When we weren’t meeting up with a couple of my husband’s business friends, we were exploring the city. The 9/11 Memorial, Rockefeller Center, and the Empire State Building are places that never get old. New York has plenty of attractions to see and plenty of restaurants to choose from, and one gem we found was a small Russian place called 519. It has that sweet, homey vibe, and the food is delicious. After coming back from the Big Apple and hosting New Years, I felt like I needed a detox. So this is how this Cabbage Whisk Salad came to be! I suggest that you make a big bowl of it, and eat it throughout the day. The flavors of cabbage, carrots, and beets come together well with no need for any salt or spices. Detoxing is a great start to start the new year feeling fresh and clean.
